Our ideal SAP S/4HANA System Optimisation Consultant will have a proven track record of implementing and supporting SAP solutions with excellent knowledge of business processes and best practices in the retail industry.
In this role, you will be our subject matter expert in S/4HANA Core with in-depth knowledge of system integration, architecture and various batch job set-ups. You will be the first point of contact for operational stability, performance improvement and system optimisation to support critical DILO (Day In the Life Of) analyses in the supply chain area.
Your Job
What this role looks like.
- Closely aligning with IT Service Owners and Product Owners to drive overarching topics in the areas of system performance, optimisation, stability, cutover validations and data volume management
- Acting as the first point of contact for SAP S/4HANA operational stability and improvement topics
- Identifying risks that influence operational stability of the product, recognising improvement potential and suggesting corrective measures to IT Service and Product Owners
- Establishing procedures, tools and reports for interface, system and E2E monitoring of critical processes and proper housekeeping to avoid any negative impact on business-critical processes
- Assuming overall responsibility for job management, ensuring proper documentation and scheduling of job chains, automated job monitoring as well as providing clear policies and guidelines which state actions to be performed and explain the impact of job cancellation/failure on downstream processes
- Closely collaborating with central and external technical teams to identify potential to increase system performance, ensure proper and optimum utilisation of resources, reduce time-consuming processes and establish proactive monitoring and alerts to prevent system failure or downtimes
- Streamlining the process of managing user roles and authorisations and reducing overall usage of firefighter user roles
- Performing code quality analyses and related technical debt management as well as providing overarching support for future SAP S/4 system upgrades by proactively checking applicable OSS notes and implementing critical OSS notes to avoid critical incidents
Your Profile
What you bring with you.
- Proven experience and good understanding of the SAP system architecture, underlying infrastructure and influence of the system/database/application architecture on scalability
- Experience working in an international environment and collaborating closely with cross-functional technical and business teams (internal/external), excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
- Excellent SAP Basis and ABAP skills enabling you to interact with technical teams as equals and to discuss application server, database, network or hardware-related optimisations
- Good understanding of SAP authorisation concepts and management
- University degree or similar qualifications (apprenticeship) with a focus on IT
- Analytical and structured way of thinking and working, positive mindset and passion for working in a dynamic environment as well as a hands-on mentality
- Practical experience with different interfaces (SAP and non-SAP)
- Experience using Agile methodology and working as part of Product Teams is a plus
- Good understanding of ITSM processes and best practices
- Relevant certifications such as SAP Certified Technology Associate and SAP Certified Development Associate
- Very good English language skills
- Committed team player with the ability to drive topics independently with very little supervision
