The Stores area creates the technical basis for efficient store processes by using the latest technologies. Our customers will be able to see the results of your work first-hand in all ALDI SOUTH stores worldwide. Our processes are increasingly moving to mobile devices to provide store associates with the most up-to-date hardware and software support. To facilitate this strategic focus, we are continually expanding our current team of experts.

Your Job

What this role looks like.

  • Contributing to strategy development for reviewing and evolving the IT system landscape in store operations 
  • Continuously monitoring international retail markets and competitors in terms of trends and use of new technologies 
  • Continually liaising with the national business entities in Germany, Austria, GB/IE, US and Australia on the further development of existing and future systems
  • Coordinating on developed concepts internationally and presenting selected software solutions to representatives from all ALDI SOUTH national business entities
  • Developing globally harmonised processes in collaboration with internal and external systems and IT specialists, as well as adapting and optimising existing processes (e.g. inventory process, store orders, store task management) 
  • Assuming responsibility for the product lifecycle (end-to-end) as the product owner, including vision, product strategy, KPI performance, requirements, development and testing in close cooperation with all relevant departments
  • Organising and leading workshops to develop target processes and requirements 
  • Coordinating decisions concerning the company as a whole for processes involving several departments 
  • Creating and aligning on business cases to support decisions on the introduction of new software solutions 
  • Providing support for the implementation of the new processes in the country-specific pilot regions and stores (Australia, Germany, Austria, GB/IE and US) as required

Your Profile

What you bring with you.

  • Proven track record and experience in a leadership role with a focus on IT strategy development and IT project management, and/or several years of experience as a management, retail or technology Consultant
  • Broad knowledge of industry, technology and retail trends with ambitions to expand it
  • Servant leadership approach and willingness to take on responsibility 
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive, paired with a positive and agile mindset
  • Ability to thrive in transformative environments, shaping and actively driving change 
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Very good English language skills, both written and spoken 
  • Willingness to travel internationally
