Your Job

What this role looks like.

  • Strategically aligning/defining the data protection compliance framework for the agile IT product organisation
  • Managing the technical and organisational implementation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements and other international data protection regulations and provisions
  • Ensuring and monitoring the proper handling of potential security and data protection incidents (being the IT service owner for the compliance service)
  • Advising the IT and project teams to ensure technical data protection compliance with regard to the deployment and operation of IT systems and the relevant internal processes
  • Empowering product teams through workshops, training courses and collaboratively identifying privacy by design measures
  • Providing support for global coordination activities with the legal and data protection departments of the ALDI SOUTH Group
  • Acting as an interface between legal, business and IT departments
  • Being the functional leader of/guiding a team of experts

Your Profile

What you bring with you.

  • Academic degree with a focus on law, business administration or information technology
  • Sound knowledge of legal data protection regulations and their technical and organisational implementation
  • At least five years of experience in data protection at a legal and/or technical level
  • Good understanding of IT processes and the IT service life cycle
  • Independent, analytical and conceptual way of working, persuasiveness and strong intercultural communication skills
  • Very good English language skills (C1 level)


Desirable extras.

  • Experience in working within complex organisations, including communicating with decision-makers
  • A certificate in the area of data protection (e.g. CIPT, CIPM) is desirable
