Our International IT Procurement department (IITP) is responsible for procuring all IT-related goods and services (hardware, software and IT services). The centrally and globally integrated department is divided into two main areas: Strategic IT Procurement and Vendor Management. These are supported by IT Procurement Operations and Software Asset Management.
We are expanding our IT Vendor Management team and are looking for ambitious employees for ALDI International Services. Your Job
What this role looks like.
- Further developing and maintaining long-term, cooperative relationships with our strategic point-of-sale vendors in order to sustainably improve our collaboration
- Assuming full responsibility for developing and implementing strategic goals and measures in close coordination with the IT Buying and business departments
- Supporting the management team by providing well-founded advice on vendor management and proactively finding solutions to escalations
- Ensuring effective collaboration with our IT vendors by managing and holding strategic workshops, meetings and events, even at C-level
- Ensuring effective collaboration using in-depth knowledge of contract content and the entire contractual landscape
- Regularly analysing the vendor’s product portfolio and the products and solutions used at internal level in order to derive a strategic direction
- Identifying cross-departmental risks and monitoring defined mitigation measures
Your Profile
What you bring with you.
- A degree in business administration, business informatics, IT management or a comparable degree
- Several years of professional experience in the areas of vendor relations, IT partner/vendor management and IT buying
- Knowledge of how contracts are structured and a fundamental legal understanding of IT contracts
- Networking mindset, confident demeanour, assertiveness and the ability to communicate and negotiate diplomatically with people at different hierarchical levels, including external C-level IT service providers
- A self-starter who works independently, responsibly and solution-orientated, but is also a strong team player
- Analytical, structured and conceptual way of thinking, as well as the ability to take on a high degree of individual responsibility
- Professional fluency in German and English
Desirable extras.
- ITIL knowledge or ITIL certificate
- Initial experience in the management of outsourced IT services is ideal
- Knowledge of or experience in how to work in an agile environment
- Initial experience in developing a vendor strategy
