ALDI SOUTH IT ensures that everything runs smoothly, from the IT infrastructure to the software used: both at national and international level. Within the scope of transnational projects, our teams develop IT solutions for worldwide use at ALDI SOUTH. As an SAP expert, you will play a key role in the implementation of ALDI SOUTH’s IT strategy and in one of the largest SAP implementation projects in the retail industry. You will develop global templates, implement software, monitor interfaces and liaise with all stakeholders.

Your Tasks

  • Supporting the sourcing, tendering and selection of suitable logistics technology providers for warehouse automation projects from an IT perspective
  • Designing international standards for various Warehouse Control Systems and the Warehouse Management System (Manhattan WMOS) in an automation context
  • Ensuring that standards will be used in multiple automation projects as well as defining suitable strategies and solutions 
  • Encompass the design, build and test of these projects from an IT/integration point of view
  • Working in multi-national project teams to understand the business requirements of current and future warehouses
  • Collaborating with internal and external IT teams to ensure successful project implementation; functioning as the communication hub between international IT departments and corporate logistics teams
  • Analysing and determining (IT) processes for existing and future warehouses
  • Providing technical expertise for warehouse management systems (WMS) and warehouse control systems (WCS)
  • Participating in process, quality and cost optimisation for logistics concepts and their implementation

Your Profile

  • University degree(s) in the field of computer science, logistics, supply chain management, automation technology and/or mechanical/industrial engineering
  • Relevant warehouse automation experience (IT, IT consulting, technical planning, integration WMS/WCS and/or warehousing) 
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (preferred Manhattan WMOS) and/or warehouse control systems, advance skills also beneficial
  • Ability to build trust, enabling the management and influencing of stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment with a “can do” attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Experience in project management 
  • Fluency in English and excellent written and verbal communication skills, confidence and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, German skills very beneficial
  • Willingness to undertake international travel (approx. 10–30% of working time, currently no travel)
